Anabel
Wind started her classical vocal training when she was 9 years old. She
graduated from Thelma Yellin, the top performing arts high-school in Israel
, a school that is closely related to Berklee College of Music (Boston,
MA). She was the first teen-aged Israeli vocalist to have won a full scholarship
to Berklee's summer program for musicians from around the world. Anabel
holds a B.Mus in voice performance from the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance
(2004, Jerusalem, Israel), and is currently working on her M.Ed from UVic.
Anabel has substantial performing and recording experience as a lead
vocalist, composer, and arranger, as well as a chorus member. She was
the leader of "Indigo" Jazz quartet in Israel, and formed "The
fifth wind quartet", in Vancouver. She was also the lead singer with
the Kibbutz chamber orchestra, the lead vocalist of 2 big-bands in Israel,
and the lead vocalist of Pitt Meadows based "Bruce James big band".
She is also the lead vocalist and songwriter of "Tal Babitzky Fusion
band" and performs with the band on a yearly basis.
Anabel teachers mostly adults, interested in both contemporary and classical
singing, as well as song writing. Her approach is a holistic one, based
on her knowledge in the psychology of performance and her vocal and anatomical
knowledge of the human body. Anabel was fortunate to have many opportunities
to coach professional singers and actors, individually in music academies
and at her own studio, teaching master classes abroad, as well as designing
and facilitating courses for groups, both at UBC and for the community
in Vancouver.
Anabel is happy to share her love and joy of music with Larsen Music's
students!
