Damian Graham - Drums & Percussion

Having
performed all across Canada, USA and Europe, Damian has been busy changing
the way people think about the drums.
Born in New Zealand ('72) and raised on the west coast of Canada, Damian's
musical diversity has led to performances with some of the finest musicians
in the country and abroad. (Michael Kaeshammer, The Paperboys, David
Gogo, Toni Childs, Paul Laine, Marc Atkinson, Paul Pigat, Tom Landa,
MoBadass, Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne, Pat Coleman,The Twisters, Bob Murphy,
Danger Danger, George Koller, Gary Comeau, Louise Rose, Phil Dwyer,
Tyler Yarema)
Damian maintains a busy live and studio schedule with his own ensemble
and as an in demand freelance musician.
Performance highlights have included sharing the stage with Joshua Redman,
Albert Collins, Cecil McBee, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Holly Cole,
The Shuffle Demons, Buddy Guy, Metalwood, The Paladins, Colin James,
The Odds, Junkhouse, Jane Bunnett, Dave Bartholemew, Joey DeFrancesco.
Shows in Chicago, London , New York, San Fransisco, Cologne, Stockholm
and numerous festival appearances including the Montreal Jazz Festival
(Canada), Toronto and Vancouver DuMarier Jazz Festivals (Canada), Beilefeld
Jazz Festival (Germany), Hultsfred Festival (Sweden), High Sierra Music
Festival (USA), Tuno Festival (Denmark).
As well as playing drums Damian regularly works in the chair of Producer,
Engineer, Web and Graphic Designer (this site), Composer and has run
his own label Bagel Boy Records since 1989.
Recording highlights include his latest release as a band leader entitled
"Trios" a follow up to the well received album "Digs". Other credits
include work with the bands Dr. Tongue, Gypsyland, Tongue and Groove,
and the ever popular "Nicol Street Christmas I, II and III" which feature
many artists including musicians from The Odds, Wunderbread, David Gogo,
Camille Miller, Gerry Barnum, Paul Laine.
As a composer Damian has written a large collection of material encompassing
a wide variety of musical genres both on his own and in collaboration
with other artists. Many of these compositions have been featured on
radio and TV throughout Canada, Europe and the US. In 2000 co-writes
with Michael Kaeshammer appeared on the later's Juno nominated album
"No Strings Attached" (Alma Records).

Kelby MacNayr - Drums &
Percussion, "Wee Ones" Music Class

Drummer/percussionist Kelby MacNayr has honed his skills performing with some of the most respected performers in jazz, pop, world-musics, Classical and new music. He has performed live on national broadcast for CBC Radio, CBC Television and National Public Radio in the United States, and has performed extensively at major festivals and performance venues across Canada and the Western United States. Kelby is the artistic director of the Art of the Trio Series and leads the Kelby MacNayr Quintet, an ensemble dedicated to exploring original composition in jazz featuring some of Canada's leading creative voices. Kelby has composed for theatre, dance and small jazz ensemble and has been fortunate to study under many of his musical heroes in the traditions of jazz, Cuban folkloric music and classical percussion. Kelby actively performs, composes and collaborates in the fertile creative community of Canada's West Coast.
