Larsen
Music is a Vancouver Island family business that believes in helping everyone
enjoy the experience of music. Larsen Music began as a rental operation out
of owner John Larsen's house. It then expanded to the little "blue house"
at 1808 Cook St. In 2005 Larsen Music grew yet again, this time moving the
retail store across the street to the converted church at 1833 Cook St (the
building at 1808 Cook remains, and is now the Larsen School of Music).
From strictly
a band rental business, Larsen Music has grown into a full-size retail store
and more! We rent and sell guitars, folk instruments, ukuleles, percussion,
electronics, keyboards, print music, orchestral strings and of course brass
and woodwinds. We also repair and service all types of instruments, and offer
music lessons and great music classes as well as summer music programs!
Owner John Larsen
is also responsible for creating those little purple and yellow "Please
Note: Schools Need Music!" bumper stickers that you see all around town.

We
sponsor music programs all over the Island and are most concerned that we
do our very best for you. You, our supporters are greatly appreciated. Thank
you.
UNFORGETTABLE in 2008, Larsen Music Donated five violins to the "Unforgettable Gala" to raise money for the Victoria Symphony and Pacific Opera Victoria. Five local artists gave the violins new life, offering their artistic impression of music. View photographs of the artwork here, or come in and see prints on the wall at Larsen Music.
